Hello and bienvenidos to Aurora del Lago! I'm Jenn, your host and one of the luckiest people I know as this is my home.
I am so excited to share my little slice of paradise with you!
It is both a long and short story as to how I ended up here and at the root of it all was the moment I fell in love with this property and the people of Santiago.
In March of 2021, I visited Lake Atitlan for the first time, and that was it. I was hooked! I made a quick return to the States where I did what most people only daydream of doing...sold it all and changed my life.
I returned to the lake two months later having bought this property and the rest is history.
It was not the property that it is today.
It has been a long road to renovate, build, and bring back to life what had been neglected for many years. Throughout this process I learned a lot about myself and of the people and culture of the place I now call home.
This place and the experiences gained have also been impactful on the lives of my kids who still reside in the States but who have come to know Aurora Atitlan as their second home.
Once you visit, you too will understand. There is a magic and peace here that can only be understood through the senses.
